Who We Are

A community of international saxophonists. We learn together and grow together!

In the summer of 2020, ISA was founded as a virtual saxophone academy for students of all ages and nationalities. We brought together a team of award-winning saxophonists from around the globe that believe in the power of intercultural collaboration. Our goals were to connect saxophonists worldwide, to inspire cultural exchange, to cultivate musical and personal growth, and to give our students a truly unique experience only possible through the explosion of remote learning.

Then something wonderful happened. Our students connected. Not just through the shared participation of online classes, but through social activities, group challenges, team trivia contests and more, all facilitated by our stellar team of interpreters. Our founders, Lily & Jon Wintringham, recognized the significance. The benefits of nurturing artistry through an international network were impossible to ignore.

ISA continues to evolve.

As a monthly subscription service, members of the academy had access to an elite roster of leading international saxophonists, chamber ensembles, composers, and other featured guests.

Now, ISA membership is free! We welcome all to join and take advantage of the video archive, to attend virtual and in-person events, and to be a part of the ISA community.
