Do I have to play?

WE HAVE NO PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS! We love it when our students get involved, and we offer lots of interactive content, but if you want to keep the camera/microphone off and join us just to watch/listen, go right ahead!

I’m already taking saxophone lessons or enrolled in a collegiate/conservatory music program. What does ISA have to offer that my current teachers/institutions do not?

Ultimately, ISA’s programming is meant as a supplement to private lessons, not a replacement. With access to ISA’s resources from around the world, our faculty and collaborators aim to promote the ideals of high-quality music education and provide informed perspectives representing current and relevant topics in saxophone pedagogy.

We think a global awareness of the saxophone community enhances the learning process. Think of ISA as a social community of saxophonists worldwide that invites stellar presenters to share their expertise.

Is the International Saxophone Academy’s content appropriate for me or my (younger) students?

YES! At ISA, we care deeply about access to quality pedagogy for aspiring saxophonists. We frequently hold focused workshops on saxophone fundamentals and we do our best to engage students of all levels.

We also believe that students of all ages can benefit from our events. Our master class performers are typically college students and advanced high school students. Our members, however, include beginners through professionals of all ages.

We hope that the affordable price and variety of content will allow everyone to find meaningful events.

How can I engage with ISA content that’s not in my own language?

A huge part of the ISA budget is dedicated to making sure our content is accessible to all of our students. This is accomplished with the help of an elite team of multi-lingual musicians that provide in-lesson interpretation services, and soon, translation services for our website and subtitles in a variety of languages for our archived content. We strive to ensure native speakers of all languages feel at home with ISA. Please contact us if you have suggestions or requests for content in specific languages.

I want to take part in ISA but the time zone difference is not going to work for me. How can I still engage with ISA content?

ISA’s team is hard at work finding optimal times for all of its participants to meaningfully engage with our events and content. We will continually survey our active pool of subscribers to ensure content is accessible but we also provide access to a video archive of our content so ISA subscribers can readily access past events.
